I’ve found that blog very interesting. I’m sure, you’ve noticed the Illuminati symbolism in the modern media before. If not, recently open this blog. She demonstrates correlation of the conspiracy of abovementioned symbolism and evaluates different facts supporting and disproving existence of the secret society nowadays. In addition, necessarily read the article of the psychologist David Ludden, who explained peoples’ belief in conspiracy theories.

Especially strong influence of media and advertising are capable to render on the formation of the identity of modern children as this generation which uses media much and obtains information of different contents. 5. NEGATIVE INFLUENCE OF INSTAGRAM

https://negativeinfluencesofinstagram.blogspot.com

Instagram is recognized by the social network which has the most harmful impact on the mental health of young people. the youth often noted that when viewing a photo in Instagram they have a hostility to own appearance, fear “to be not in a trend”. At the same time the level of “an ideal way of life” which is shown by popular bloggers constantly grows. the platform for loading of photos distorts perception of the image of a body, increases fear of omission and has a harmful impact on a sleep. This is what Katarina’s blog about, go to her blog to find out more!

My View

Social media incredibly tighten, eat plenty of time and sometimes even cause addiction. Nevertheless, it is also impossible to deny the undoubted advantage of social networks. They, really, allow people to be closer to each other, and sometimes seriously help out and help with the most various situations.

Social networks significantly help with work to law enforcement agencies. Thanks to the existence of these resources, law enforcement agencies get access to such data which can’t be “got” in the traditional ways.
During the investigations, law enforcement agencies may use any channels providing information for public access.
Certainly, for police, most often social networks serve as a source of information for investigations. However, they can be used and for the intended purpose – as a means of establishing communication. (Link)

All benefits in relationship to police communicating with society:

*People anyway discuss the work of law enforcement agencies on the Internet, it isn’t important whether to use police social networks or not.
*Counterfeit accounts which distribute fake information allegedly on behalf of a police department. In this case, better to create own, official accounts – it is the only way of protection against the misinformation based on rumors and speculation.
*Social media give the chance to charge a part of the police mandate to ordinary citizens (through social networks users can participate, for example, in search of the missing people). Social networks are often used during search and rescue operations today.

Rose cruising on the Costa Concordia Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012

For example, in 2012 being sign up in Facebook helped to escape one of the passengers of the Costa Concordia cruise liner which crashed at the coast of Italy. As a result of this record, rescuers could find the girl.

Message left by Rose Metcalf

And last winter the staff of service of rescue 911 in Northern California could on a photo in Facebook find the location of the seriously wounded of the tourist in mountains. Rayn Pritchard made a campaign together with his son, but slipped and fell from the rock, 45 meters high. The eleven-year-old son called service of rescue, but the call was interrupted before he could explain the location. Then the probation officer visited a page of a tourist in Facebook, where was the picture taken near the place of the tragedy. This information allowed rescuers to find the victim and in time to help him. (Link)

*Social media became a new news source for youth, forcing out and replacing with itself traditional media. The younger generation prefers to obtain information from the Internet, and connection with youth – one of the key areas of work of police officers.
*Monitoring of social networks allows to prevent attempts of a suicide and violence over children.

Property crimes are often relatively easy to solve, with the right resources. All we lack is the will to take them seriously.

Marc Fisher is a senior editor at The Washington Post.

The house of Mark Fischer, the author of articles for Washington Post, was robbed in December, 2010. This day Rodney Knight stole the laptop of his son, a winter coat and savings bonds. Before leaving the house, Rodney took a selfie in the stolen coat while holding the money, using the laptop webcam. After that he uploaded a picture on the page on Facebook of the boy. The investigator informed the journalist that case will hardly be solved as it isn’t priority, nevertheless, Mark wrote article in the newspaper about this case, and the photo extended in media with an unknown speed. Thanks to it, five months later Rodney was caught and Mark achieved justice through Facebook and people who decided to help him.(Link)

To conclude I’ll say, I have two type of social media users, “Inadequate”, which by the virtue of media illiteracy or media incompetence will definitely receive negative impact, and others, “Adequate”, this people know all benefits of social media use in all terms.

Nowadays, it’s mundane to watch videos in social media where people use phone camera as a tool to prove something to someone, probably for police.

For example, in Kazakhstan, Index of Corruption leaves much to be desired, the corrupted road police, abusing the power could just stop and fine you without any reason, probably because people don’t know their own rights. That was before people started to film the policemen actions on phone, and then uploading it on the web space, since this movement, the rise of this kind of videos have been increased, and the corruption decreased.

This article is about how you use video as an evidence so that the judge court can accept it, but in my opinion, even if your video doesn’t work through the law, it will work in the social media. Of course, there must be a reason for taking video-evidence and usually the most unjust and sensational ones will be highlighted.

What the Experts Say 1

The media have a positive social function of determining the limits of acceptable social behavior the task of informing citizens about the safety situation and taboo subjects (domestic violence, sexual abuse, child/woman abuse, etc.).

Surette in 1998

This article describes Media, Crime, and Public in all ways it goes, mostly the negative effect, like the half articles on the internet about this topic. I agree, there are billions of fake news or news, which doesn’t inspire confidence.

Many critics claim that publicizing of crimes in a news, at first sight, seems reliable and objective, but actually represents the strongly distorted incident picture. (MEDIA, CRIME, AND PUBLIC

Anyway, we live in the 21st century and know how to recognize true or false.

4 out of 5 officers say they’ve used social media to gather information during their investigations, and at least 50% say they check social media at least once per week in conjunction with an open case.

How Social Media is Changing Police Investigations (link1)

This article represents media is an information carriers of crimes. Use of materials of media for obtaining various data which are of interest to the investigation as in experience of the American police testifies, rather effective legal remedy of collecting extensive information.
The police actively use social media platforms and etc., as in them it is often possible to meet articles describing the activity of the criminal organizations and their heads, messages about the experience of a fight of police against the criminal organizations.

The role of social media as a tool to help solve a missing person case (link2)

Usage of social media platforms has been helpful for the investigation. Certainly, every year appeals to the police on a search of missing steadily decreases. Often it is connected with the growth of mobile communication and social networks. This growth positively affects the society, since it is easier to find missing one, not only for relatives but also for police. “The opportunity to get your message out there is greatly improved with social media,” Global News’ social media expert, Andrew McKay said. “It can spread more quickly than going through a traditional channel, like an Amber Alert or a police press conference.”

Norcal Rapist

“I spoke with one of the victims this morning and she was overcome with emotion and happiness to see that this person is in custody and that nobody else has to worry about him anymore. The victims in this case can stop looking over their shoulders.”

Sacramento police Detective Avis Beery

The American police officers caught the wanted maniac who in 15 years raped 12 women. As the prosecutor of the district of Sacramento Anne Marie Schubert and the chief of local police Daniel Hahn told, information about criminal’s DNA was uploaded to the site GEDmatch where people search for relatives and make a family tree. The Sacramento Bee edition reports about it.

The police long time couldn’t find the rapist who committed crimes during the period from 1991 to 2006. The victims couldn’t describe it, because during rapes the man put on them eyes a bandage. One of them nevertheless could describe the abuser, and in the late nineties other victim wounded him, and on the crime scene there was its blood. Police officers had a sample of its DNA, but it didn’t coincide with one of the samples which were available in base of law enforcement agencies. (sacbee.com)

The rapist’s DNA partially coincided with data of one of the users of the GEDmatch resource. 58-year-old Roy Charles Waller, the security specialist of the University of California Berkeley who together with his wife lives in the Californian city of Benisha, it was him. It became clear that Waller lived near those places where crimes were committed. Besides, his appearance coincided with the description made one of the victims. The criminal was detained at the university where he worked the last 25 years.

“I don’t remember the rest. White foam came out of my mouth, and I began to lose consciousness, the last word I heard them saying is that you being an Uighur is a crime.”

Mihrigul Tursun
U.S Congress

A few years ago, Mihrigul left for a study to Egypt and got married in the same place. In 2015 she decided to arrive in China and visit the family. On an arrival to home, she was immediately delayed and separated from children. Later one of her child died.
Three years China didn’t let out Uighurs from the country, it was in the Xinjiang camp. At last summer, she was allowed to leave China and visit Egypt in a condition that she will return back.
Already in Cairo, Mihrigul contacted the American diplomats who took her out to the USA. In the U. S. Congress, Mihrigul Tursun with the translator told about the custody in the Xinjiang camp of “re-education”. (Link)

In February, the World Uyghur Congress accused the Chinese government of imprisoning thousands of Xinjiang Muslims in giant political education camps. Xinjiang authorities have not responded to repeated requests for information from CNN on the political education camps or responses to activists’ allegations, but state media outlets have covered these facilities and touted their effectiveness in de-radicalizing the locals.

James Griffiths and Ben Westcott, CNN

In recent years in Xinjiang, Uyghurs have been mass arrested, placed in prisons and “re-education” camp. Most often detentions happen groundlessly. Generally, the situation is practically not discussed in the international community. Maybe, because for tourists and journalists seldom reach there. Hope now, after Mihrigul was succeeded to reach the U. S. Congress and the case will get the ball rolling. In my opinion, broadcasting such media promotes bigger mutual understanding and tolerance, especially during the periods of the conflicts, and raise the issue of cross-cultural interaction more often.

Social Media Fights Against the Criminality and Beyond

Nowadays, it is impossible to imagine our life without a day-to-day use of information technologies and mass media platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and etc., therefore, the opportunities that such patterns provide us on a daily basis may have a sufficient impact on various phenomena of social life. The main objective set in the blog is to raise public awareness and show the power of social media involvement in the mechanisms of crime investigation and its further detection.

Media have an opportunity to convincingly and visually highlight topical issues for a multimillion audience and to have considerable preventive potential. The abovementioned prospectives of social media impact may positively affect the public perception of criminal activities, its reasons, features of the fight against it and etc. Mass media enables to attract voluntary help from among the most conscious segments of the population to the party of law enforcement agencies, to facilitate assistance in search of the missing or persons who committed crimes, victims of violence. The Media plays an important role in legal education of people, as well as improvement of their knowledge in various areas of the right.
